In 2010 New Mills Local History society purchased an 1830's account book, the work of John Taylor, land agent and accountant to George William Newton of Aspenshaw Hall and Ollersett Hall.
This started an investigation in to the early part of Industrialisation in the New Mills area, documenting interesting information about these two men at the time.
